Selected by Bennett Coaches to deliver their new corporate headquarters and maintenance facility for their coach fleet, MSB worked quickly to transform the brownfield site at Metz Way into the high-quality building shown in the photograph.

The striking building near the centre of Gloucester incorporates a modern state-of-the-art service facility capable of handling the latest generation of coaches. Additionally, the new building includes a suite of senior management offices, an executive boardroom, and kitchen facilities, providing a comprehensive solution to Bennett Coaches’ operational needs.

This challenging site with soft ground conditions required the use of Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) vibro-compaction to prepare the ground for the building’s foundations.

Faced with the complexity of operating in close proximity to multiple railway lines routing into Gloucester Station, we maintained close coordination with Network Rail. This required meticulous planning and detailed forward coordination to ensure all operations proceeded smoothly.

A substantial underground storm water attenuation tank, required by the local planning authority, was designed and constructed to withstand the load of a coach or HGV vehicle, demonstrating our commitment to innovative and sustainable construction solutions.

The chosen site for our new building for expansion is near to Gloucester train station. Local ground conditions required MSB to use a large CMC piling rig in close proximity to the busy railway line. MSB had to carefully coordinate with Network Rail, but everything ran smoothly and on schedule. MSB have been outstanding from the outset of the project and we are more than pleased with our new building
